James L. Highlander Theatre

The mainstage performance venue for the Theatre and Dance program performances was constructed in 1971 as a state-of-the-art proscenium theatre. Located between the Martin and Wood buildings, the area also contains a complete scene shop, makeup and wardrobe facilities. The building was restored and renovated following a 1986 fire in the back shop area, and was named in 1992 in honor of the professor and department chair who designed the theatre during his tenure from 1961 to 1991.
