The Blessed Fr. Louis Brisson is the co-founder of the Oblates of St.
Francis DeSales - a priest, chaplain, educator, inventor, and social worker. In December of 2011, the Vatican Information Service reported that the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, authorized the promulgation of a
decree affirming a miracle attributed to Fr. Brisson. On September 22,
2012, the Beatification of Fr. Louis Brisson took place in Troyes,
France.
History:
Originally known as Tucker Hall, Brisson was the first building used to house students. Built as the first of two residence wings for an Oblate
Seminary, it was lent to DeSales for use in 1965. Fr. Alexander Pocetto,
retired Senior Vice President of the University, was the first Resident
Advisor.
